Beer & Wine Tour of Croatia by BBM! Tours
Ten days, Nine nights | ONE DEPARTURE A YEAR
•May 31-June 9, 2026
•June TBA, 2027
Let’s face it, you’ve been wanting to go to Croatia and now is the opportunity that fell right in your lap. Croatia is stunningly beautiful, with great food, (think fresh seafood), wine, fascinating culture and yes, a developing beer scene, of which most of these beers are not available in the United States.
Croatia seems to be on many people’s travel radar, so now more than ever seems like the perfect time to go to this emerging European destination and experience what Croatians call “Pomalo living.” Pomalo means, take it easy, slow down and enjoy life! Read more about Pomalo here.
If you want to dip your toe in Croation beer, at Total Wine, you’ll find some such as Karlavacko Lager and 5th Element, with as many as five variations.
We’ll begin our tour in the capital city of Zagreb, described by some as one of Europe’s most beautiful capital cities. Travelers are encouraged to arrive two nights early to adjust to the time and to allow for delays. By arriving two nights early, you’ll have time to enjoy exploring the city on your own prior to the tour. From there, we’ll visit the famous Plitvice Lakes National Park featuring waterfalls and lakes, and stay one night right in the park.
Then it’s on to Split, with an enchanting old town nestled in the ancient ruins of a Roman palace and situated on the romantic Adriatic Sea. We’ll spend two nights here exploring the town and the beer culture.
No visit to Croatia would be complete without some island hopping, which is why our next stop is glamorous Hvar Town on the sunny island of Hvar. We’ll transfer there by ferry as we wind our way through its yacht-filled harbor. We’ll spend two nights here enjoying its ample nightlife.
It will be hard to leave Hvar Town, but another jewel awaits us, majestic Dubrovnik. We’ll arrive by ferry after traversing scenic islands along the way. This walled city is a postcard picture at every turn. This will be our home for the final three nights of the tour as we explore this pearl of the Adriatic and Dalmation Coast.

Ten Days, Nine Nights
This tour begins in the lobby of the Hotel Academia, in Zagreb and ends at Hotel Lero in Dubrovnik. This is a point A to B tour. Travelers will fly into Zagreb Airport and out of Dubrovnik Airport.
We will be staying in Zagreb, Zadar, Split, Hvar Town (on the island of Hvar), Korčula (on the island of Korčula) and Dubrovnik.
Sunday, May 31 • Zagreb: – Welcome to Croatia! This incredible tour begins in the afternoon in Zagreb as we meet at 2 p.m. in the lobby of the Hotel Academia. I recommend travelers arrive two days prior on their own to adjust to the time and allow for delays. We’ll have a short walking tour followed by our Welcome Bottle share. Dinner and the rest of the evening will be on your own.
Mon, June 1 • Zadar & Plitvice Lakes National Park -After breakfast we board our coach to the magnificent Plitvice Lakes National Park. On the way there, we will visit the Garden Brewery in Zagreb for a tasting. This is one of Zagreb’s more well known and highly regarded breweries. Next, we depart for a company lunch at Bistro Kastel at Castle Dubovac, in Karlovac. After lunch, we continue on to the Park, where we’ll see the natural beauty of the park, highlights, including lakes, waterfalls and limestone cliffs. We’ll also take a ferry ride across one of the lakes. Afterward, we move on to the charming and historic city of Zadar, on the Adriatic coast, where we will spend one night at the four-star Almeyer Art & Heritage Hotel and enjoy a company dinner. (Breakfast, Lunch #1 & Dinner #1)
Tues., June 2 • Split Morning is free to explore Zadar. Lunch is on your own. Afterward, we board our coach and visit a winery on our way to Split, where we stay at the stunning Hotel Briig, our home for two nights. This beautiful boutique hotel looks out over the Adriatic Sea and is easy walking about 500 meters to the city center and the Diocletian’s Palace. It’s also across from the famous sandy Bacviće Beach. So, bring your bathing suit, water sandals, koozies and sunscreen. After a company dinner, the rest of the evening is on your own to explore Split. (Breakfast & Dinner #2).
Wed., June 3 • Split This morning we’ll take an informative walking tour with a local professional local guide. The rest of the day is free. There’s all kinds of things to do, including day trips to outlying islands, tuk tuk tours, museums or just shopping, people watching or going to the beach. You’ll see lots of online offers and travel agencies in town booking day trips and day tours. Tripadvisor and Viator have some good suggestions on the top things to do in Split, too.
Thur., June 4 • Hvar Town This morning we transfer by ferry to the island of Hvar and Hvar Town. We’ll store our luggage at the Pharos Bayhill Hotel with a pool and a view of the Adriatic Sea. Then, I’ll give you a short walking tour of this attractive harbortown, followed by a company lunch at Hotel Adriana with a stunning view of the turquoise harbor and its bustling yacht traffic. You’ll feel like you’re on Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous. Most everything here is walkable, albeit, some uphill. You’re going to love visiting here. This town is quintessential Croatia! (Breakfast & Lunch #2).
Fri, June 5 • Hvar Town Today is mostly a free day with the exception of a company wine tasting happy hour this afternoon. I recommend visiting the Fortica. Afterward you can walk down into town for dinner on your own. There is also a restaurant in the fort. Everyone leaves happy! (Breakfast).
Sat., June 6 • Korčula This morning we board the ferry to the town of Korčula on the Island of Korčula, where we will spend one night at the four-star Marco Polo Hotel. We’ll store our luggage at the hotel, then take a short walking tour. Lunch will be on your own.
Sun.., June 7 • Dubrovnik This morning we say goodbye to Korčula and hello to Dubrovnik. We’ll cruise aboard a high-speed ferry about 3 ½ hours and follow the rugged Croatian coastline, weaving our way through scenic islands with pine forests, cozy coves, all with the beautiful Adriatic sea as the backdrop. All, offering a sense of vastness and beauty.
On arrival, we’ll transfer to the beautiful Hotel Lero. There is food and drinks available for purchase on the ferry. You may also bring your own food and drinks on board.
You’ll have a chance to freshen up, then we’ll head to the old town of Dubrovnik, where I’ll lead a short walking tour, then turn you loose to explore and have dinner on your own. You can book day trips with the concierge in advance and when you are there. They are very helpful.
Mon., June 8 • Dubrovnik Today is free until we meet in the Old Town at the Fat Bastard Pub, at 2 p.m. for a Croatian Craft Beer Tasting. Our host will be owner and Croatian beer expert, Ivan. He stocks more than 50 varieties in his cozy, air-conditioned pub. The rest of the day is free. There’s plenty to do in the Old Town, from walking tours, to shopping, to hiking around the top of the wall. You can book day trips, too, with the concierge desk at the hotel. They are very helpful. Tripadvisor and Viator have some good suggestions on the top things to do in Dubrovnik, too.
Lunch and dinner are on your own in one of Dubrovnik’s many attractive restaurants. The rest of the afternoon is free and dinner is on your own. (Breakfast).
Tues, June 9 • Dubrovnik Breakfast concludes this grand tour of Croatia! Thank you for taking the tour. The hotel concierge is available the day before to arrange for your transfer to the Dubrovnik Airport for your flight home or to your next destination. (Breakfast).
